The Roaring Boys, Jonny Donahoe
and Danny Benoliel, have a fast and often frenzied brand of humour which
is funny throughout with peaks of hilarity. As expected, they begin with
some good natured banter with the sprinkling of Tims in the audience.
The premise of the show is that
there are no epic heroes called Tim. Suddenly, they launch into their
story of one ordinary Tim along with his mate, Maxwell in a daring quest
to become that epic hero
Their story sets up situations
which are essentially daft. Tim has to do battle and defeat the Beast of
Ba Ba Ba Ba Baa. Along the way the duo play a host of characters
including an eccentric sea captain called Charlie Boat and the ghost of
another Tim, a naturalist who studied polar bears.
The story concludes with Tim doing
battle with the Beast with absurd and unexpected results. The whole
auditorium becomes part of the action as the deadly contest takes place.
Their finale is a song of ‘Tim’ celebration.
The blend of well constructed,
over the top action and comedy songs makes for high class entertainment
which was enjoyed by a packed house.
