Marcus Brigstocke: God Collar

****

I have seen Marcus Brigstocke on the TV for years now and always thought him to be a very clever, obviously well educated, middle class comedian and now having seen him live I can confirm that he is all of the above.
He steps on stage at the Rainey Hall, for 11 months it is used  to train Church Ministers and spends an hour declaring that there is no God!! There’s irony for you.
Brigstocke commands the stage and his audience giving a well reasoned argument for his case, quoting from God Delusion written by Richard Dawkins, ‘God is Not Great’ by Christopher Hitchens and the Bible itself, all three books on stage beside.
But he is not just arguing his case; primarily Brigstocke is a comedian, so he knows how to get laughs as well, and there certainly is plenty of evidence to that, judging by the roars of laughter that emulated from this totally sold out show.
Marcus intersperses this theme with some family anecdotes, It is obvious from the way he talks that he is very much the family man away from performing and also the story of how he got into comedy in the first place.
Brigstocke is definitely a class act, so take my advise get your ticket as soon as possible, ‘cause there is no way you should miss him.
