Scotland’s own Queen of Comedy, that is
if you don’t count Craig Hill, Karen Dunbar is back at the Fringe
with her one woman show and is playing to packed out houses in the
large Gilded Balloon Debating Hall. Ayr’s finest is back on song,
literally at times, with an excellent hour of mirth and mayhem.
Playing to a predominately Scottish
audience Ms Dunbar, prances, prowls, gags and tells hilarious stories
of her past year and even going back to her childhood for some
material.
She has strong opinions on numerous
subjects and some crazy solutions to certain situations but all her
set, and it is packed, is simply just funny, albeit with a very
Scottish slant. I have commented before that although Scots and
those like me who live here will get full benefit of her wit, others
may miss out on some of her gems, and this years material is a bit
like that, given her travelling this year maybe I was wrong. But
what I am not wrong about is that this is an exceptionally talented
lady with a huge future, and I can only look forward to seeing her
next show.
