Jason
Cook's Fringe show last year saw me leaving Stand Two sobbing!
Surely with a show optimistically called 'Joy' I'd be ok this year
but, No!!
Sobbing
for a different reason. I left the show hearing one audience member
saying "that was the funniest sad thing I have ever seen"
and I'm inclined to agree.
Being
brought up in a working class Geordie home he was always taught to
look for the good in everything, despite being one of the unluckiest
families in the world. The Cook family have a top five family
disasters. On the other hand Jason recently got married.
This
show is basically about his life and things that bring him Joy,
including celebrating Christmas in August, why?
Because he can. His comedy may be centred
round his family their trials and tribulations but if he can find
the fun in these situations why can't we. From the depth of sadness
comes joy why not share some with Jason Cook.
No
cynics allowed!
