Last year I saw Des Clarke live for the
first time and expected much. However I left then a little
disappointed.
What a difference 12 months make, this time
playing to a packed out Pleasance Cavern, Clarke was on fire from
the onset.
He has a huge following of Scots, probably
partly down to his TV exposure North of the Border and a lot of his
material is very Scottish orientated. However he is an inclusive
chappie, speaking to his audience and genuinely welcoming them to
Scotland, the Fringe but especially his gig.
Desire is the theme of this years
extravaganza and he lists a few of the desires, or dreams he had as
a lad, probably many the same as most young men, collects a number
of ideas from the audience to run with and before anyone was aware
he was drawing to a close.
Clarke seems a very personable young man,
has some great material and is really at home when playing live, All
in all it was a great hour spent and I can only suggest that you get
your ticket at once. This guys rocks!
