It was a few years ago that I last saw
Michael McIntyre and then he was a definitely up and coming young
comic, but was playing in the sauna that is the rather small
Pleasance Attic.
Things have moved along nicely for him in
the interim, numerous television appearances including The Royal
Variety Show have certainly made his comic genius known to a vast
number of people and so his Edinburgh shows this year and already
doing great business.
McIntyre interacts with his audience well,
comedy gifts of a similar named man in the front row, also a guy in
camouflage gear, the inevitable one or two latecomers and the lady
with a silent laugh are accepted with relish, however he is not
vicious with anyone. That aside, he has a wide variety of subjects
on which parts of his routine are based, Highland dress, toilets,
swimming, Scottish addresses, laughing and of course the attack on
Glasgow airport all come to the fore with that McIntyre magic.
The man has an amazing memory to go with is
undoubted comedy brilliance, recalling chance meetings of years gone
by, and I’m sure that he will soon equally be remembered by all as
one of the best comedians of recent years. Are you listening if.com
