It has been an awful lot of years since
this former Flying Pickett first presented this ‘Best of Show’
and it is one of the most enduring to be found in the entire Fringe
brochure.
The format is the same as always, but if a
winning formula is found why change it? And judging that over 50% of
the audience are repeat offenders it is a popular discussion.
Stutter opens the show with a few gags, a couple of songs and then
it is on with the show.
As always this show has a variety of comedy
and music but here is where his show differs from some, there are
always a couple of extracts from plays as well.
The show I saw had comedy from Hugh Hughes
and Story of a Rabbit, and Ladies Monthly, stand up from Marcus
Birdman, theatre in the shape of Killer Joe, all from The Pleasance,
music from the very talented Nick Pynn at Inlingua , Mexican comic
theatre from Callate at Assembly and finishing off with musical
comedy from Tripod from the Spiegel Gardens.
Of course the show will be different
everyday so could be visited several times, let Merv and his team
pound the pavements and bring the best to you, then you can decide
what to see more of.
