David Ward – ‘The Whole Truth and Nothing but ...’

David Ward’s humour is based on a very personal account of his life thus far. The title of his show perfectly sums up where he is coming from.

His life story is centred on his gambling addiction, which eventually resulted in a short prison sentence. At this point, the joking and wisecracking stops, and he delivers a monologue tinged with a dark humour as he recounted his time in jail and the characters he encountered.

He returns to the earlier approach as he rounds off his set on the subject of his failed relationships with the women in his life.

His storytelling approach to comedy has flashes of witty insights rather than being hilariously funny.
