Amazing Adventures of Her Majesty at 80

What was an intriguing scenario, Carole Shaw as Her Majesty revealing her innermost thoughts, turned out to be a big disappointment. Admittedly, there were some funny moments and some decent material but not enough to fully engage the audience. Also, her delivery was faltering and the comic timing just wasn’t there.

Perhaps these aspects of her performance will improve as the run continues. However, she admitted herself that, in her role as the Queen, she was no great singer at an early point in her act. It was therefore surprising that she attempted a ‘big musical finish’ which only seemed to emphasize this fact.

I am sorry to say this show didn’t work for me nor I fear for the audience either.
