Chortle
Theatre Group from Kilmarnock were formed in 2002 with the aim of
giving young actors a chance to perform on stage and in particular
brining them to the Fringe and less than one year later they have
succeeded in this aim.
This enthusiastic young company breathe
some Scottish life into this Willy Russell play set in and around
the toilets of a pub during the night that a stag night and the
same weddings hen night opt for the same venue for their 'final
flings.'
Linda
the bride to be leads her group of friends to a pub where her ex,
now a pop star is performing. It appears that not everything in
the wedding garden is rosy and as drink and emotions kick in
problems arise.
In
this production directed by Robin Osman there are some excellent
performances, the two that stood out for me were those of Kylie
Dunlop playing Bernie ad Jack Pugh as Kav.
So
does Linda get married? The answer can be obtained by going to
this show and encouraging young talent, and get an excellent
performance into the bargain.
