Those
of you who have been Fringe goers for as long as I have will
probably remember Mitch as half of Kendall Mitchcake with his mate
Magician Ian 'Gravity' Kendall and subsequently a couple Fringes
as a solo performer.
It
has been four years of waiting but he's back, and this time with
his extremely talented Distractions, Tash Baylis on drums and
Kirsty Newton on bass, keyboards and backing vocals.
Mitch
sings comedy songs that he writes himself and links these in his
own inimitable style of humour. In
the hour set which finished all too soon for his large audience,
we only got two 'oldies' but his new material is of a very high
standard with songs based on and around Oasis, Emenem and Tabloid
journalists among my favorites.
Mitch
spent some time living in Edinburgh until the lure of London took
him away. He is much in demand at the BBC so it could be a while
before he is back again.
Take
my advice, go and see this talented chappy and his two nubile
Distractions, 'cause you'll regret it if you don't’.
