Mervyn
Stutter has been presenting this show for many years but for some
reason this has been the first year we have decided to visit this
Fringe institution.
I
understand that this was the normal format in which Mr Stutter
chats with the audience sings a song or two and then gives the
chance for a few acts to 'sell' their show by doing a few minutes
of their act.
Okay,
others do similar things and I suppose that the quality of the
guests reflects on to the quality of Mervyn's show, but with the
whole Fringe to pick from....
The
guests I saw were magician Keith Fields, Paul Hull with excerpts
of 'Kaye's the word', 'Slaves of Starbucks' a play starring Peter
Akkerman, High Brave Boy a play directed by Linda Marlow, a stand
up from the Brightsparks package together with an excerpt from
Squonk Opera , the new phenomenon which is taking audiences by
storm at the Gilded Balloon.
No
matter what your taste there should have been something in that
line-up to suit, and that is one of the major plusses for shows
like this, there is a variety of acts for you to sample before you
buy, and it's different everyday.
